According to a UAE Ministry of Economy survey, the UAE imports about 80 percent of the herbal products consumed locally. Herbs and spices remain underexploited in the UAE, with processing companies relying on imports mainly from India and Zanzibar, as indicated by a validated report from the UAE Food and Agriculture Authority. There is increasing demand for herbal products in the UAE, which has led to many importers joining the market. Meffier will be among the importers, with an annual target of 50 containers, imported from Iran, Egypt, Lebanon, Algeria, and other countries currently supplying the Middle Eastern market.
